White and black rhodium-plated bronze, silver-plated bronze, sterling silver

Chunky is a jewellery line stemming from what was originally a commission for a unique piece.

These cast pieces were first made in carving wax, but rather than employing the saw and files, Chunky was crafted using tools that are usually extraneous to jewellery making: a paper cutter, a bradawl and a gouge. Instead of refining and masking the texture of this material, by picking the 'wrong' set of tools  wax's specific features were best exploited, highlighting its consistency and its plasticity.
