Manufacto Project

2014
Glazed ceramics, decal decorations, silicon glue

In this coffee set two materials apparently distant from each other have been pulled together: the ceramic flanks the chewing-gum. With this gesture I intended to dignify the gum in its DIY meaning, while re-appointing ceramic to its primitive use as a simple, humble material.
The decorations have been developed from the shape of human salivary enzymes, which funnily evoke some kind of classical decorative motifs for ceramic plates.

This project is the result of the workshop MANUFACTO#2, organized by Resign Studio, in collaboration with Museo Carlo Zauli and Museo Internazionale della Ceramica, Faenza (IT). This work alongside two other projects was chosen to be produced and sold on the online platform autoproduzioniitaliane.com
