M3 is an exhibition project especially conceived for Obsessed! that involved myself, Marguerite Bones and Margherita Cinchio, two jewellery artists recently graduated from Rietveld Academie. All coming from different backgrounds and disparate researches, the show focused on our graphical approach to the jewellery practice - the common denominator between our works. Sketches, collages, comic strips and patterns are the tools we use to apprehend ideas and intuitions, to then turn them into three dimensional adornments. Our pieces process from flatness to volume, rising shapes and outlines through techniques such as tooling, wirework and vacuum-forming, that subtly maintain their initial bidimensional qualities.

The exhibition was an occasion to further explore our approach to jewellery making through sketches, collages and animation, using this concept as a starting point for an open exchange between our works. The scenography create a visual storytelling in three stages, M2 M3 M4, illustrating the passage from two to three dimensions. M2 referred to the bi-dimensionnality and graphical approach, displaying drawings, prints and collages. M3 looked at the matter itself, the three-dimensionnality, showcasing our pieces in a playful, diorama-inspired scenography. M4 was the inclusion of sound and movement, presenting an animation in which the artists' works were activated and set in movement.
